GALACSEA'S ADVENTURES
LES AVENTURES DE GALACSEA
FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS ... SOYEZ FOUS

Provisioning: Excellent supermarkets Exito and large street market. Prices are much lower than in the Antilles. Relief!! The boys buy new prescription glasses and get a dental cleaning ....
Cartagena: 2-day excursion in Cartagena, walled old city and nicely renovated, about 100 miles south of Santa Marta. Extremely touristy, but very pleasant. We go there by bus for 84,000 pesos R/T. Our hotel -- Les Balcones de Boca Grande -- outside the walled city, is nice, even tough its comfort is limited -- but there is A/C. Fantastic dinner at the restaurant in the walled city -- Andante, Vivace etc.
Parque de Tayrona: Corinne and I talk the boys into doing a day trip to the Parque de Tayrona. You have to ride a bus from somewhere in the middle of the street market. The bus takes you to the park entrance (US$6 R/T), where you board a shuttle to get to the trail (US$4 A/R). Then, you walk 2h in the jungle to get to the beaches. No regrets. It's hard but absolutely spectacular.
